Royal Chef is an original docu-reality series that follows six Israeli chefs, each running traditional home-style, ethnic restaurants, as they travel to England to compete in an international cooking competition. For about a month, they live together in a villa, immersing themselves in British culture while facing the challenges of England’s culinary scene head-on.
At the heart of Royal Chef is the clash of two culinary worlds—the chefs’ “simple” roots in home-cooked comfort food versus the elite world of gourmet cuisine. With a light-hearted and comedic tone, the show captures the chefs’ struggles as they leave their familiar kitchens for the first time, navigating the challenges of a foreign country, language barriers, cultural differences, and the dynamics of living together. All the while, they compete in a high-stakes culinary contest, judged by three-Michelin-starred chef Albert Roux and a panel of top British chefs.
